How often do we look at the end product of our promises and we forget the process it takes to get there?
Don't get me wrong--we should look forward to the destination. God is on the brink of doing some incredible things in our lives and changing our hearts! He's about to restore what was broken, take a wilderness and make it like the Garden of Eden--can you imagine that? The Garden of Eden!
We all have a wilderness in our lives. We all have hearts of stone that He wants to make hearts of flesh. We all have a testimony that He uses for His glory. We are all on a journey. But in the beginning of the chapter He says, "For indeed I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown [vs 9]."
There's a process of tilling hard, fallow ground and making it rich again in order to grow a Garden of Eden.
That process usually isn't enjoyable or pain-free but it is necessary for a real heart-change. God has really big plans for you! But unless He tills your heart first, you will remain a wilderness. I would rather endure the tilling than remain desolate.
Remember that God is for you and anything He works in your life is only ever for good. He wants to rebuild the broken places. He wants you to reach that destination; we need to embrace the process of getting there.
There's a beginning to every promise. The more you surrender and say yes to God, the more you'll see Eden becoming reality in your life. It's greater than anything you could ever dream for yourself.
