Lake Tahoe Christian Fellowship began as a Christian House called, "Crossroads". The founding members were a small pioneering team of twelve young men and women, saved in the Jesus Movement of the early 70’s, and sent to South Lake Tahoe from Morning Star Ministries based in Marysville, California under the leadership of Ric and Angela Carlson. They arrived in May of 1974 with an evangelistic vision to reach the many young people living in the Tahoe area. They soon experienced a harvest with many youth and teenagers receiving Jesus Christ. After a couple of years the group purchased a small church building on Highway 50. Within months of purchasing the building, Ric Carlson discovered that he had terminal cancer. He went to be with the Lord in August of 1976 at 30 years old.

Chris and Martha Gunderson stepped into the senior leadership for the next year until the home church could send a senior pastor. Terry and Cheryl Edwards arrived in December of 1977 with a vision to see the purpose of God through this ministry continue. Within months, God poured out His Spirit bringing a salvation revival that caused the church to grow to 150 in one year. The name of the new church was Church of Glad Tidings. The period of 1977 to 1983 was a time of church growth and ministry expansion. In 1983 a young Filipino couple named Pepito and Marion Cea were sent to pioneer a church in the Philippine Islands. God led them to a remote provincial city named Labo where they established the first spirit filled church in the area. Within two years we began Harvest Field of the Philippines as an apostolic church planting ministry which has grown to over 50 churches around the islands.

In 1984, a church elder named Francis Anfuso, along with several other staff, began Glad Tidings School of Evangelism. Within a year the vision expanded to include equipping courses, seminars, and material to equip the local church. We then changed the name to Christian Equipper's International (CEI). By 1986 it was known around the nation, and by 1989 CEI had courses and material being used in over forty nations.

In 1991 we changed the name of the church to Lake Tahoe Christian Fellowship. Beginning in 1994, God poured out His Spirit on our congregation and we entered a new season of increased presence and anointing. In 1996, obeying a prophetic word, we embarked on a four year journey to build a suitable building as a launching pad for future ministry, both to our community and the world. This new building was dedicated on April 30, 2000. On dedication Sunday we received a prophetic word that defined another season of expansion, this time into our own region of the Eastern Sierras, including Carson City and Reno. Sierra Streams Ministries was born in 2005 and is an Apostolic network of churches and ministries committed to seeing kingdom growth, presence and power increase in our region.

Worship
Through our worship we seek to express our love and devotion to Jesus Christ and to celebrate the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer
Because God's house is a house of prayer for all nations, we are committed to pray for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Prophetic
Because the church is founded on Apostles and Prophets, we welcome and honor the prophetic ministry. We are called to be a prophetic people and are committed to do what we see our heavenly Father doing.

Family
The family is the basic foundational unit of church and society and we are committed to building strong, nurturing, loving families.

Unity
Jesus gave us a commandment to love one another. We are committed to walk in love and unity in our home, our church and with other churches and peoples.

Evangelism
We seek to demonstrate and declare the good news, heal the sick and incorporate people into our church through personal and corporate evangelism.

Discipleship
Through discipleship and training we seek to produce personal spiritual maturity and to release the gifts and abilities in others in order to build the Body of Christ.

Giving
Because God sovereignly uses finances to expand His Kingdom, we believe that He wants us to give joyfully and sacrificially our tithes and offerings in order to walk in covenant, bring increase to His church and to reach out to others.

Missions
The church is called to reach out in Spirit led mission's efforts in order to bring the revelation of Christ and His love, salvation and purposes to other areas, nations and peoples.

Renewal
Recognizing that none of the above can be accomplished in our strength, we seek to be perpetually renewed and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
